The DMB took the stage at about 8:15PM with these principles in mind and played until about 10:15PM with a 15-minute encore. The band members' microphones were turned up, except for Dave's voice. They made every song a jam session, focusing on each of the other members of the band. Dave talked for less than a minute during the entire show, preserving his voice. They moved very little on stage, so Dave could be near his gargle and produce at least some type of vocal. The show lacked intensity as the night proceeded, with the priority being getting through the night. The audience begged for a traditional concert build-up, mostly unanswered. Silent pauses followed each song, with no transitions between numbers. The background, lighting, and set were very simple, keeping the focus on where the music was being created. The focus was on one jam session after the other, with minimal attempts to connect with the audience. The show would have required Dave to be able to sing well and put more focus on him.
